Project Overview:

GazeHealth is a healthcare platform that consists of two parts - an EMR system and an analytics tool. They can be used together or separately. The EMR system lets to collect, visualize and manage data about patients. The analytics tool lets mental health specialists track and study case records of different patient groups.

Project Challenges:

To efficiently visualize case records of a patient group based on the aspects of special interest. To implement the key feature of the GazeHealth solution - finding the most suitable and efficient treatment method for each case based on Big Data and AI. To implement treatment process tracking that would cover crises in the course of disease and treatment as well as consumed medicines. To provide routing based on a user role and a user company.

Technical Solution:

It was decided to use Sankey Chart covering all the functionalities that we had to implement. As long as none of the available solutions covered all over needs we built this functionality from scratch using D3. As a result, we have developed the Sankey Chart where a user can click on the needed sections and form the needed flow. All other additional charts are represented on the ground of the chosen flow. Our data scientists have implemented the tool’s ability to offer the best treatment by harnessing the power of AI and Big Data. Alternative ways of treatment are demonstrated in the mentioned above Sankey Charts and a table containing figures and percentages that explain why a particular alternative treatment variant is better than the one that a user has chosen. To implement treatment tracking in the best possible way, our developers decided to build a custom chart that would combine a time lime chart for medicine intake tracking and a line chart for test result demonstration. Consequently, they have built somewhat a mix of a calendar and the two mentioned charts that perfectly represents medicine intake and test result changes in the course of treatment. The crises are also demonstrated there. To provide routing based on a user role and a user company, we used AWS Cognito. With its help, we created different user groups. Additionally, we have implemented integration with our database that stores data on companies partnering with GazeHealth. The react-router v6 has been used to create routing in a way that pages to which users do not have access even are not added to the routing object. As a result, the GazeHealth solution has very flexible and easy-to-maintain routing completely based on a company and a user role.

Project Challenges:

The build an app designed around high performance. To design a friendly and welcoming user interface. To implement an intuitive user experience. To implement robust security. Technical Solution:

To deliver superior app performance, we chose to handle state management issues with React Query. This was a perfect match as there were no cases requiring a global state. The library is based on the server-state pattern, it’s fast and flexible and its capabilities mean we could easily manipulate data and requests. To meet all requirements of the design, our developers chose React Native Reanimated, providing a rich set of animation tools. Nontrivial components like a sticky header with a parallax effect were built with the help of the react-native-sticky-parallax-header library providing greater flexibility for customization. To avoid UI crowding and provide clear and simple UX, the team realized modal windows by avoiding the tired, traditional box appearing in the middle of the screen and elected for a contemporary, full-screen container appearing from beneath. To replicate the form and format of the mobile device, scrolling and gesturing were to be used instead of the usual buttons to interact with these containers. To implement this, developers leveraged a modal block itself and such libraries as bottom-sheet and react-native-gesture-handler. To provide robust, performant and secure user authorization the team used an API of the operating system enabling interaction with biometric sensors. The expo-local-authentication library was heavily utilized and let the team build a secure and convenient authorization flow similar to those in all popular mobile banking apps. The expo-sharing library that allowed capability on iOS was not appropriate for Android, therefore we decided to use the expo-file-system library, specifically StorageAccessFramework, allowing the application interaction with the Android file system. A component with a PDF file preview cannot be created with Expo and the leading React Native library for PDF file reading is not supported by Expo. As a result, we decided to complete this nontrivial task by means of the rn-pdf-reader-js library that uses the native capabilities of the web page render to display documents.

Project Challenges:

To display asset details in the Defi extension so that users can see data with the token price dynamics and understand the reason behind a total balance change. To accelerate the web app development process with regard to the fact that the same components are used to realize different commands. To build the Swap page of the Defi web app where users can swap their tokens without registering on exchange and sales platforms. Technical Solution:

To get data on token price dynamics we have implemented integration with CoinGecko that stores data about tokens and updates it once a day. A separate page has been built to represent the chart of token price dynamics with the ability to set a particular time period. Users can also find useful data about their tokens there. To boost the web app development process we decided to create the Defi-UI component library. We defined components and API components to be included in the lib, built them, integrated them with Storybook, covered them with tests, and finally delivered a set of ready-to-use UI components. We built the UI of the Swap page in complete compliance with the provided design. Besides, we integrated an API, enabled data saving in a form using SessionStorage, and implemented transaction signing using Web3. Our developers built the UI of the Portfolio page in accordance with the provided design and integrated an API. After a comprehensive analysis of all leading animation libraries, we chose Reanimated, as it was the swiftest and most suitable one for the UI thread. We used the latest Reanimated-2 version to create NFT lists and Drag&Drop collections as well as to display token prices within different timeframes in the token price dynamics chart. To improve the speed of the UI thread and JS thread as well as ensure smooth animation during users’ interactions with the app lists, we have decided to use FlashList as it works 5-10 times faster than FlatList provided by React Native. With its help, all lists within the app were created. Still, we also crafted a custom solution for Drag&Drop lists and swipeable lists. We studied onboarding screens available on the market and defined the best flow for the Defi mobile app that included wallet creation and import. Then, we designed navigation across the screens, created screen components, connected libs for the implementation of needed functionalities, and implemented integration with API Trustwallet to enable wallet creation. We have created the NFT screen where users can view their NFTs, get data on them, filter NFTs based on a blockchain, name, contract address, collection name, etc., and group them into collections. By integrating Assets API and using the react-native-pager-view package, we have created a smoothly working Asset Management screen that enables token display and management. Among others, we have also implemented a tab for hiding/showing tokens and a tab for adding custom tokens to a wallet provided a user knows the necessary data.

Project Challenges:

The key challenge was to ensure high performance. The platform had a lot of charts and tables. Some tables were indeed huge, and our developers implemented virtualization with the help of XY Grid because project requirements did not suggest pagination. Additionally, they dealt with cashing of GET requests and continuously worked on the minimization of server requests and performance improvement through component memorization, cashing, and the use of Context instead of Redux where it was relevant.

The Mode app is a cutting-edge digital finance product that has drastically changed the way UK users interact with crypto assets. The app offers a unique experience by allowing users to earn, buy, sell, and grow their crypto portfolio all in one place. With Mode, users can also interact with external wallets and add or withdraw funds from their UK bank accounts in just a few clicks. Our core task was to develop a backend for the mobile application that would function on both Android and iOS platforms, and an admin portal - a separate web application for managing customer data, accounts, and transactions - that would be used by their customer support team to monitor data, verify transactions, provide performance results, and reconcile balances. - The app needed to handle a large number of transactions per second. - The application required a high level of security to protect users' assets. - The application must support multiple cryptocurrencies, which meant that the backend needed to be flexible enough to handle transactions of different types.

Technical Solution:

Having a solution-focused and collaborative mindset, the team managed to complete back-end development on time and within the stated budget while meeting all the client's functional and non-functional requirements. The app supported high availability and high transaction usage from Mode's customers. The user registration and verification were implemented in line with the highest security standards, and without compromising on user experience. Diverse functionalities such as deposits, withdrawals, and P2P transactions were able to easily handle large amounts of data. The referral program was also implemented successfully, and the bonus account was able to track referrals and rewards accurately.
